Four corners: Gonzaga Bulldogs

COMING UP: Tonight at Pepperdine, 7 (KHQ); Saturday at LMU, 1 p.m. (KHQ)

OUTLOOK: The upstart Waves (11-7, 4-2), picked last (10th) in the preseason poll, could grab at least a share of the conference lead with an upset against the Bulldogs. Gonzaga has won 24 straight in the series, its longest current winning streak against a WCC school. The Waves, under third-year coach Marty Wilson, are off to their best WCC start since 2004 and have five of their next seven games at home. Forwards Stacy Davis (15.5 ppg, 7.9 rebounds) and UCLA transfer Brendan Lane (15 ppg, 8.2 rpg) have nearly identical averages. They’ve combined for 11 double-doubles this season.
