In brief: Humane Society offers reward in poisonings

SPOKANE COUNTY – The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person who allegedly tried to poison two dogs in the area off Wellesley Avenue and I Street in northwest Spokane.

One dog needed surgery after it ate raw ground beef mixed with white granules. The other dog, which lives across the street, had a seizure.

Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service has sent the suspicious meat for analysis to Washington State University’s forensics laboratory.

COPS Shop to expand its hours of operation

HILLYARD – COPS Northeast, 5208 N. Market St., is expanding its hours.
