Mead Education Foundation to host dance for dads, daughters

The Mead Education Foundation is hosting the Daddy Daughter Damsel Dance on Feb. 8.

The dance will be at Mountainside Middle School from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Girls ages 12 and younger are invited to wear their most elegant gowns and dance the night away. The evening includes gourmet cupcakes, a photo to commemorate the occasion, and, of course, music and dancing. As a special treat the Mt. Spokane High School dance team, cheerleaders and Mt. Spokane’s Lilac Princess, Elsie Story, will also be at the party, handing out tiaras to all of the young princess girls in attendance.

Cost for the gala is $30 per daddy-daughter couple or $40 per family, for dads with more than one daughter wishing to attend the dance. Reservations for the event must be received by Jan. 21. Tickets will be available at the door for an additional $10, if space is available.

Proceeds from the dance will benefit the Mead Education Foundation.

For a reservation form and for more information, visit www.meadeducation foundation.org.

Hoops for Hope game to be held at Mead

Spokane and Mountainside Middle School will battle it out against the staff from Mead and Northwood Middle School. In the past nine years the event has raised more than $40,000 for the charity.

Admission to the game is a $5 donation and raffle tickets will also be sold for $5. The raffle drawing will be held at halftime.
