UW, Tosh Lupoi reach $300,000 settlement

The University of Washington and former assistant football coach Tosh Lupoi reached agreement on a mutual separation that will pay him $300,000, the school confirmed Wednes- day. Lupoi was the defensive line coach under previous coach Steve Sarkisian. UW is looking into allegations of recruiting violations against Lupoi, first reported by the Los Angeles Times. The school said on Dec. 30 that Lupoi was being reassigned within the athletic department, but gave no details. Lupoi took to Twitter on Dec. 19 saying allegations he broke NCAA rules by paying for a football recruit’s online classes and tutoring are “untrue attacks.” – AP
