Obituary: Brown, Lucille E.

Age 81

BROWN, Lucille E. (Age 81) Our loving mother, passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2014, with her son Ron at her side, after a lengthy battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

Lou was born in Spokane on March 22, 1932, to Darrell and Elsie Gibson, joining sister Doris and followed by brother Bill.

She married Robert Clouse of Clayton after graduating from Deer Park High School, Class of 1950.

Lou and Robert were blessed with four sons: Ron, Gary, Richard and David.

They were raised in north Spokane.

She treasured her sons more than anything else in her life, always putting them first.

She took great pleasure in them, their families and her best friends.

In April 1971, she married Wally Brown.

The best times of her life included her waitressing work and the friends she made there with customers and coworkers.

She and Wally were co-owners of Lilac Lanes and Casino in Spokane before selling the business in 2007.

Lou enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golf and manicuring her yard.

She was generally the life of any party or family gathering.

Her smile and laugh was infectious, you couldn’t help but to join her in that happiness.

Lou was preceded in death by the love of her life, Wally Brown in 2001, and her son Gary in 1998.

She also leaves behind six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, countless friends as well as her precious dog, Bubbs.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 20th at 9:30 am at Sunset Chapel inside Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.
