Chiefs improve to 6-0 against Everett

EVERETT – There’s no such thing as a blowout in this season’s series between the Spokane Chiefs and Everett Silvertips.

There’s also no such thing as an Everett victory.

Dominic Zwerger and Adam Helewka scored goals, and Eric Williams stopped 27 of 28 shots as the Chiefs improved to 6-0 against Everett this Western Hockey League season with a 2-1 win Friday at Comcast Arena.

Spokane has defeated the Silvertips three times by one goal, including two in overtime, and three times by two goals. The teams will meet four more times.

The Chiefs, with nine wins in their last 12 games, improved to 27-13-2-2 and 58 points, one behind fourth-place Seattle in the Western Conference. Sixth-place Everett dropped to 24-14-6-1 (55 points) with its 11th setback in 14 games.

Spokane improved to 13-6-1-1 on the road.
