GSL boys: Hassett shoots Rogers past University

KJ Hassett made a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the visiting Rogers Pirates past the University Titans 62-60 in Greater Spokane League play Friday.

Hassett took the winning shot with about 1 second remaining. He finished with a team-high 20 points including four 3-pointers. Robert Rucker added 17 for Rogers (3-9 overall, 3-7 GSL).

Robert Little led U-Hi (7-5, 5-5) with 21 points – all coming on 3-pointers.

The game was back and forth throughout with nine lead changes and seven ties.

Central Valley 57, North Central 34: The league-leading Bears (10-1, 10-0) opened a 24-12 lead in the first half adn outscored the Indians (1-11, 1-9) 26-10 in the third quarter at NC.

AJ Knudsen led CV with 19 points, including five 3-pointers. Marcus Saugen led NC with 10.

Ferris 62, Mt. Spokane 47: Saxons 6-foot-9 post Jensen Rye scored a team-high 18 points on 8-of-11 shooting as visiting Ferris (10-2, 8-2) downed the Wildcats (5-7, 3-7).

The Saxons outrebounded Mt. Spokane 26-18. Stu Stiles led Mt. Spokane with 20 points and Jacob Krantz added 14.

Gonzaga Prep 61, Lewis and Clark 43: Senior transfer Jamil Foster had a breakthrough game for the Bullpups (9-3, 8-2), finishing with a game-high 17 points as the Tigers (3-9, 2-8) didn’t have an answer.

Reed Hopkins and Ryan Alexander supported Foster with 11 and 10, respectively. Marcus Ducham led LC with 12.

Mead 61, Shadle Park 43: The visiting Panthers (8-4, 7-3) broke open a close game by outscoring the Highlanders (3-8, 3-7) 22-8 in the third quarter.

Max Hess led three players in double-figure scoring with 15 points for Mead. George Pilimai had 10 for Shadle.
