Obituary: Covey, James Cleveland

Age 86

COVEY, James Cleveland February 3, 1927 - January 9, 2014 James C. Covey passed on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 7:50 in the morning.

He was preceded in death by his sons; Bill Covey who passed away in 1971 and Sam Covey who passed away in 1981.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Florence Covey of 65 years.

By his son, Timothy Covey and many that called him (Dad), by his grandchildren and many that called him (Grandpa), by his brothers, sisters, relatives, neighbors, and friends.

In his lifetime, Jim was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a pastor, a truck driver, a mechanic, and a man of faith.

Jim had many hobbies; a few were fishing, model trains and planes, and cameras.

He was very meticulous in everything he did.

He had a goal of keeping everything he had as close to original as he could (he had a tool for everything).

Jim and Florence were members of the Open Bible Church, located in the Spokane Valley.

For the last few months Jim had been at Colonial Court Assisted Living Home in the Spokane Valley.

While he was there, he was visited by many relatives, friends, and neighbors, all of whom were able to talk of old times, laugh, shed a few tears and say good bye.

He was loved and admired by many.

Jim considered the many visits he had in the last few months, as a memorial to his life.

As requested by Jim and his family, there will be no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Union Gospel Mission in Spokane.

The family would like to say a special thanks to the wonderful staff at Colonial Court Assisted Living and Gentiva Hospice.
