Obituary: Emerson, Robert “Bob”

EMERSON, Robert “Bob” (Age 75) Passed away peacefully on December 6, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.

Bob was born on June 11, 1938 to William and Elizabeth Emerson of Kalispell Montana.

Bob was the oldest of their 10 children.

His years were spent in the Flathead Valley of MT, Seattle WA, Spokane, WA, Anchorage, AK and Phoenix, AZ.

Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around outdoorsman.

He took much pleasure in the meticulous planning and scoping of the hunting grounds every year, from the Grass Range of Montana to the High Sonoran Deserts of Arizona.

Always a “tool in his belt” was his tremendous and often times mischievous sense of humor.

If you had the pleasure of spending time with Bob you were sure to be entertained by stories of past adventures from childhood through adulthood that were always told with much laughter and amazement that everyone made it through fairly unscathed.

Bob’s work ethic was unparalleled!

A General Contractor by trade, his creativity and skills resulted in many clients becoming repeat customers and close friends.

His career began in Columbia Falls, MT as a Carpenter which led to the growth of his career to Independent General Contractor.

So many were in awe of his ability to continue working in the harshest of conditions.

From the bitter cold of Montana, Eastern Washington and Alaska to the torturous heat of the Arizona summers.

If you were on the job with Bob and were told “Well, you’re worth your weight” then you just received the highest of compliments!

Bob was a wonderful Father, raising five children with his wife Virginia.

We are all in debt to his tremendous lessons and teachings of self sufficiency.

His impact on our lives is priceless!

He truly believed there was nothing that could not be achieved if you put your mind to it.

His attitude and outlook was always positive, even in the most challenging of situations.

He succumbed to his illness believing he could truly beat it, and he did even in death.

Bob is preceded in death by his father William; sisters Mary Pat Patterson and Connie McDonald, and younger brother Jim Emerson.
