JONES, Clara B.

(Age 88) Clara was born in Snyder, TX., to the late Louis and Maggie Kitts on July 9, 1925.

Clara graduated from Portales High School in 1943, and married the late Charles E. Jones on June 14, 1945.

She had three children, Charles, Sandra, and Kathleen.

As an Air Force wife Clara lived in many places, before settling in Spokane in 1964.

Clara was a foster parent, expert quilt maker, and wonderful grandmother.

She worked at the Crescent Department store in downtown Spokane as an assistant buyer.

After her retirement in 1990 she went to work at Kmart.

Clara loved to fish and pick Huckleberries, but above all else she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her sisters, Ann Dunning and Netha Pool; her son, Charles; and daughter, Kathleen; her three granddaughters, Chandra, Bree, and Bonnie; and nine great-grandchildren, Charlie, Jordynn, Austin, Dawson, Dylan, Justice, Jace, Xander, and Jayden.

The family would like to thank the staff at Kimberly’s Cottage for the care and love they gave to Clara and support to her family during this difficult time.

A memorial will be held at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home on January 23, at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Our Place Community Ministries 1509 W. College, Spokane, WA.
