Obituary: Pittman, Julie (Vaughan)

Age 52

PITTMAN, Julie (Vaughan) Our brave Julie, loving wife, daughter and sister, passed away January 12, 2014 at her home on the Columbia River at Hanson Harbor with her husband, Doug and her parents at her side.

Julie had battled chronic severe health problems for years.

Julie was born on September 11, 1961 in Spokane, WA to David and Carol Vaughan.

Julie grew up and attended school in Colville WA., graduating in 1979.

Julie then went on to Central WA., University wherein she graduated in 1983 with a Degree in Health Education and returned to get her teaching certificate.

While attending Central WA., University she married her best friend and soul mate, Douglas Pittman on August 30, 1980 in Colville, WA.

Julie taught school in the Highline School District in King County.

Julie loved teaching and missed it once she became ill. Julie enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, entertaining and reading.

Doug and his family introduced the sport of Curling to Julie and she became an active and influential member with the Granite Curling Club in Seattle WA.

Doug and Julie lived happily in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle for 26 wonderful years.

Julie and Doug moved in 2009 to their dream home which they built on the Columbia River.

Julie loved being with friends and family.

Julie was a member, elder and worship committee leader of the Creston Christian Church.

Julie is survived by her husband, Douglas; her parents, David and Carol Vaughan; her brother, David (and Laura) Vaughan; and her sister, Kristina Vaughan; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family would also like to thank Dr. Mueller, and Dr. Samuel Joseph, and his assistant Kate, all of Spokane, for assisting with Julie’s quality of life.

A Celebration of Life Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 1pm at the Creston Christian Church with Pastor Guy Schmieleu, officiating.
