Four corners: Eastern Washington Eagles

COMING UP: Tonight vs. Southern Utah, 6; Monday at Portland State, 7 p.m.

OUTLOOK: On paper, tonight’s contest against the Thunderbirds is the easiest game for the Eagles. Southern Utah’s young lineup has struggled all year, but is coming off an encouraging 65-59 loss at conference co-leader Weber State. The T-birds are last in the Sky in scoring (50.8 ppg), shooting (36 percent), and rebounding margin (minus-10.2). The Eagles get a sterner test Monday night at Portland State, which is led by the 14.5 ppg of guard Tim Douglas. Eastern sophomore forward Venky Jois, the Big Sky Player of the Week after home wins against Montana and Montana State, added 31 points and 22 rebounds last week.
