Pac-12 roundup: Huskies hang on to beat Ducks 80-76

C.J. Wilcox scored 23 points, including a 3-pointer with 43 seconds left, leading Washington to an 80-76 win against Oregon in Seattle on Thursday night.

Wilcox scored six points in the final 2 1/2 minutes as Washington (12-8, 4-3) held off Oregon (13-5, 1-5) down the stretch, extending the Ducks’ losing streak to five games. Andrew Andrews added 17 points for UW.

Oregon trailed by seven points with 2:59 to play and cut the margin to 73-72 when Wilcox made his 3-pointer that essentially sealed the win for Washington and ended the Huskies’ two-game skid.

Joseph Young scored 18 points to lead Oregon and scored six points in under a minute to spur Oregon’s rally after Washington grabbed the seven-point lead.

Young led the Ducks with 18.0 points per game coming in, but had been held to five points in each of Oregon’s last two games against Oregon State and Stanford.

The Ducks started the season with 13 straight wins, reaching a No. 10 ranking before the losing streak knocked them out of the top 25.

(1) Arizona 69, Colorado 57: Nick Johnson scored 18 points, Brandon Ashley added 15 and the Wildcats remained unbeaten with a win over the Buffaloes in Tucson, Ariz.

Aaron Gordon added 12 points for Arizona (19-0, 6-0), which overcame a 3-for-15 night from 3-point range and some missed free throws down the stretch to extend the best start in school history.

Xavier Johnson led the Buffaloes (15-5, 4-3) with 21 points and Josh Scott added 15.

Colorado fell to 0-16 all-time against No. 1 teams.

UCLA 91, Stanford 74: Tony Parker scored a career-high 22 points and the Bruins used a big first-half run to cruise past the Cardinal, ending Stanford’s three-game winning streak.

UCLA (15-4, 4-2 Pac-12) has won nine of their last 11 against Stanford, including a sweep last season. Jordan Adams added 19 points; Kyle Anderson had 13 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists; and Norman Powell had 13 points.

Stanford (12-6, 3-3) was led by Dwight Powell with 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Josh Huestis had 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The teams were nearly even over the game’s first nine minutes after Stanford started with three turnovers and two missed shots.

Arizona State 79, Utah 75: Jahii Carson scored 23 points, eight in a decisive five-minute span late in the game, as the Sun Devils held on to beat the Utes in Tempe, Ariz.

Jonathan Gilling added 13 points, including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers, making a cricitcal 3 with 1:40 to play for Arizona State (14-5, 3-3).

Jordan Bachynski had 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Sun Devils.

Jordan Loveridge scored 22 points and Delon Wright 21 for Utah (14-5, 3-4), which led by as many as nine in the first half and was up 41-37 at the break.
