Cusick tops Curlew for 10th victory in a row

Chad Browneagle’s big night helped Cusick win its 10th straight game on Saturday night.

Browneagle had 22 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists and the Panthers used a huge first quarter to get past Curlew 69-56 in Cusick.

Cusick (15-2, 9-0) jumped ahead 27-6 in the first quarter and held off Curlew’s rally. Alec Bluff scored 22 points for Curlew (8-6, 6-3).

Republic 54, Selkirk 45: Taylor Campbell scored 21 points and Alex Rivera added 13 as the Tigers (8-9, 6-4) rode the momentum of a hot start and beat the visiting Rangers (8-9, 6-3). Selkirk’s Shawn Mailly scored 19 points.

Inchelium 63, Columbia 33: Quentin Holford had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Roger Finley added 15 points and 12 boards as the Hornets (3-7, 3-5) thoroughly dominated the second half in a win over the visiting Lions (2-15, 1-9). Inchelium outscored Columbia 42-9 in the second half to erase a two-point halftime deficit.

Inland Empire 5A

Post Falls 63, Lewiston 24: Max McCullough scored 13 points and Luke Anderson added seven points and seven rebounds as the Trojans (8-6, 1-2) dominated from the outset before letting up in the second half in a win over the visiting Bengals (3-12, 0-3).

Great Northern

Pullman 66, West Valley 47: Race Martin scored 23 points to lead four players in double figures and the Greyhounds (13-11, 7-0) pulled away after halftime and beat the host Eagles (10-5, 3-4). Jake Love tallied a team-high 17 points for the Eagles.

Clarkston 63, East Valley 48: C.J. Johnson scored 17 points and Trevor Sperry added 12 as the Bantams (13-2, 5-2) topped the visiting Knights (8-7, 3-4). Dan Keplin, J.T. Phelan and Gabe Bancroft each scored 10 for EV.

Northeast A

Lakeside 72, Chewelah 47: Cameron Gay had 21 points and six assists and Ryan Quigley added 18 points as the Eagles (13-3, 8-0) routed the Cougars (4-13, 1-8) in Nine Mile Falls. Gay and Quigley combined to make 18 of 26 shots. Chewelah’s McKenzie Miller scored 13 points and Nic Grimm added 12.

Freeman 50, Medical Lake 42: Ryan Maine drained 6 of 8 3-pointers and scored 21 points to guide the Scotties (8-7, 5-3) past the host Cardinals (6-11, 4-5). Jacob Phipps added 11 points for Freeman. Medical Lake’s Jordan Rohweder scored 15 points.

Newport 88, Kettle Falls 59: Jeron Konkright tossed in 35 points to power the Grizzlies’ potent offense in an easy win over the visiting Bulldogs (6-10, 1-8). Connor Mullaley added 13 points and Joe Weltzin chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds for Newport (8-9, 4-5). Kettle Falls’ Cole Wren scored 28 points.

Intermountain

Bonners Ferry 59, Kellogg 51: Cameron Woods hit four 3-pointers in the second half and scored 21 points as the Badgers (4-8, 2-1) rallied to beat the visiting Wildcats (7-5, 2-2). Connor Bennett and Josh Pluid added a combined 21 points and Wyatt Nelson blocked five shots for Bonners Ferry. Kellogg’s Jesse Lambert scored 21 points.

Northeast 2B

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 63, Davenport 39: Dylan Hartz had a triple-double and the Broncos (15-2, 10-2) routed the visiting Gorillas (5-13, 2-10). Hartz scored 10 points and added 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Northeast 1B South

Odessa-Harrington 41, Valley Christian 38: Jacob DeWulf scored 10 points and the Titans (11-6, 4-1) held on late in the fourth to beat the host Panthers (11-6, 4-2). Nick Cox scored 18 points for Valley Christian.

Wellpinit 66, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 45: Brodie Ford and Triston Andrews scored 17 points apiece and the Redskins (9-8, 2-5) defeated the Warriors (4-12, 2-4) in Coulee City. ACH’s Dallas Isaak led all scorers with 23.

Southeast 1B

Garfield-Palouse 65, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 39: Tyler Thurman scored 23 points and Matthew Holbrook added 18 as the Vikings (14-2, 10-2) soared after a sluggish start and dumped the Tigercats (6-7, 5-6) in LaCrosse. Darcy Stamper tallied a team-high 16 points for LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus.

Colton 63, Liberty Christian 47: Dalton Patchen nailed nine 3-pointers and scored 32 points to guide the Wildcats (7-3, 6-3) past the visiting Patriots. Isaiah Ojeda led Liberty Christian with 15 points.

Pomeroy 65, Rosalia 54: Cody LaMunyan scored 20 points and Riley Bott added 19 as the Pirates (14-1, 10-1) topped the visiting Spartans (7-8, 5-6). Rosalia’s Craig Nelson scored 33.

Nonleague

Lake City 74, Glacier 53: J.J. Winger made 4 of 4 3-pointers and scored 14 points and Justin Pratt added eight points and eight assists as the Timberwolves (11-4) defeated the Wolfpack in Coeur d’Alene.

Wallace 76, Timberlake 39: Brock Arthun scored 23 points and Gavin Rasmussen and Brady Brantley added 17 apiece as the Miners (7-2) routed the visiting Tigers (4-9).
