STREIT, John (Age 98) John Streit, a lifelong Spokane Valley resident, died peacefully in his sleep with family by his side on January 20, 2014, two months before his 99th birthday.

For the past six years he had resided in Hood River, Oregon, where his daughter and many immediate family members are living.

He worked for FAA as an air traffic controller for 35 years before his retirement in 1977.

After John’s retirement, they spent the next 30 years splitting their time between Maui, Hawaii, and their home on Bowdish in the Spokane Valley.

They lived a busy and full life, easily making friends through their many activities and duplicate bridge clubs.

John hunted, fished, and played tennis almost daily until he was 91.

John is survived by daughter, Jonnie Kae and husband Ron Anderson; son, Tom Streit and wife Kim; four grandchildren and three great-grand- children.
