THE 56TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS: Yes, Jay Z leads the pack with nine nominations, but this is the one awards show where we care more about the performances than the trophies. And what a list of stars we have this year, including Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Willie Nelson, Beyonce, Stevie Wonder, Metallica, and Carole King, just to name a few. Returning to host the festivities from Los Angeles is LL Cool J. 8 p.m. Sunday, CBS.

SUNDAY: Trouble in Springfield paradise? On “The Simpsons,” Homer discovers that Marge has been seeing a marriage counselor. D’oh! 8 p.m., Fox.
SUNDAY: The mesmerizing limited series, “True Detective,” continues to weave its spell. In tonight’s episode, Cohle and Hart (Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson) find a hidden image they hope can lead them to the mysterious serial killer they seek. 9 p.m., HBO.
MONDAY: “Herblock: The Black & the White” is a compelling new documentary that traces the life, times and influence of celebrated editorial cartoonist Herbert Block. His career spanned over 50 years and earned him a Pulitzer Prize. 9 p.m., HBO.
TUESDAY: The creepy vibes just keep on coming from “The Originals.” When Klaus (Joseph Morgan) makes a grisly discovery in the Cauldron, he asks Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) for some help, but he refuses. That’s just plain rude. 8 p.m., The CW.
WEDNESDAY: “Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond” is a snazzy new four-part miniseries that explores the early life of author Ian Fleming, who brought James Bond to life. In the opener, our hero begins work with British naval intelligence. 7 p.m., repeats at 10:30, BBC America.
WEDNESDAY: “Hawking” is a new documentary that chronicles the remarkable life and career of British physicist Stephen Hawking. With contributions from the man himself, and plenty of interviews with interesting folks, it basically shows why he’s so much smarter than us. 9 p.m., KSPS/KCDT.
THURSDAY: On “Parks and Recreation,” Ann and Chris spend their last night in Pawnee at a farewell party thrown by Leslie (Amy Poehler), who is very determined to fulfill a certain promise before they go. 8:30 p.m., NBC.
FRIDAY: “Barrymore” is the latest installment of “Great Performances.” It has Christopher Plummer recreating his Tony award-winning portrayal of John Barrymore during the final months of the matinee idol’s life as he rehearses for a revival of “Richard III.” 9 p.m., KSPS/KCDT.
SATURDAY: Get ready to crack up. Funny lady Melissa McCarthy returns to host “Saturday Night Live” for the third time. The musical guest is Imagine Dragons. 11:30 p.m., NBC.
