Arizona’s streak at 20 games

Nick Johnson scored 22 points and Aaron Gordon provided a huge boost despite a rough shooting night, helping top-ranked Arizona pull away from Utah 65-56 Sunday night in Tucson, Ariz., for its school-record 20th straight win.

Arizona (20-0, 7-0 Pac-12) struggled early in both halves before Gordon made key plays with his hustle during a deciding second-half run. He finished with 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting and grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Wildcats offset a 3-for-14 night from 3-point range with 20 offensive rebounds that led to 19 second-chance points.

Utah (14-6, 3-5) kept it close before wearing down in the closing minutes, unable to keep the athletic Wildcats off the glass or from scoring inside to remain winless on the road.

Delon Wright had 19 points and Jordan Loveridge added 13 for the Utes, who were outrebounded 40-29 and outscored 38-24 in the paint.

Stanford 79, Southern California 71 (OT): Chasson Randle scored seven of his 17 points in overtime, and the Cardinal beat the Trojans in Los Angeles to avenge two close losses last season.

Josh Huestis scored 16 points and Dwight Powell added 14 for Stanford (13-6, 4-3), which won for just the second time in its last 18 road games against UCLA and USC. The Cardinal have gone 0-9 against the Bruins and 2-7 against the Trojans in Los Angeles since the beginning of the 2005-06 season.

The Trojans swept both games last season by a total of three points.

Byron Wesley led USC (10-10, 1-6) with 18 points. J.T. Terrell and Pe’Shon Howard added 13 each and Strahinja Gavrilovic scored a career-high 12 for the Trojans.

The Cardinal scored the first four points of overtime on a free throw by Anthony Brown and a 3-pointer by Randle to go ahead for good.

UCLA 76, Cal 64: David Wear scored a career-high 18 points, Kyle Anderson finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds and five assists and the Bruins never trailed en route to a victory over the Golden Bears in Los Angeles.

UCLA (16-4, 5-2) led just 55-52 with 7 minutes remaining, but finished the game on a 21-12 run to pull into a tie for second place in the conference standings with California (14-6, 5-2).

Bryce Alford scored 13 points, Jordan Adams had 12 and Normal Powell added 11 and to give the Bruins five players in double figures for the seventh time this season.

Jordan Mathews scored 18 points and Justin Cobbs scored 14 to lead Cal, which dropped its second straight conference game after beginning Pac-12 play 5-0.
