Apartment fire displaces family in North Spokane
A Monday evening apartment fire near Hill N’ Dale Park put one family in transitional housing, the Spokane Fire Department said.
The blaze was reported around 5:30 p.m. at 8821 North Hill N Dale Road. Flames were confined to a bedroom closet containing a water heater, according to a Fire Department news release. Smoke could be seen emanating from a second-floor apartment in a three-story building, according to the news release.
Firefighters were able to contain the flames in less than half an hour. Damages are estimated at around $5,000. No injuries were reported.
One family was displaced as a result of the damage, the Fire Department said. They are being assisted by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
