Fresh Sheet: Latah Creek Wine Cellars hosting vintner dinner

Latah Creek Wine Cellars is hosting its first Dinner with the Winemakers.

The meal, catered by Ambrosia Bistro and Wine Bar using recipes from Latah Creek owner and cookbook author Ellena Conway, takes place Friday in the winery’s warehouse and tank room.

Cocktails will be served at 5:30 p.m. Seating is at 6 p.m.

Dinner is $75 per person. Wine club members pay $60.

Valentine’s Day dinner

Tickets are on sale for the Valentine’s Day wine-tasting dinner sponsored by the Connoisseur’s Club at the Lincoln Center.

The five-course dinner, created by executive chef Steve Jenson, features wines from Three Rivers Winery in Walla Walla. The event runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 14. The $55 ticket price includes tax.

Nodland Cellars scores with Wine Enthusiast

The magazine awarded the Spokane Valley winery 91 points for its 2009 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, 91 points for its 2009 Private Blend, 90 points and “Editor’s Choice” recommendation for its 2009 Avant-garde Carmenere, 90 points and “Best Buy” recommendation for its 2009 Bad Attitude red blend and 90 points for its 2012 Bebop Dry Riesling.

The ratings are slated to appear in the March issue.
