Man suspected of stealing cat food from SpokAnimal arrested

A 40-year-old Spokane man was booked into jail late Tuesday after police say he stole a large amount of cat food from SpokAnimal.

William Sorenson faces a charge of second-degree burglary in the incident, which police say happened earlier this month. Sorenson allegedly broke into a storage shed on the property at 700 N. Napa St. and left with at least 25 bags of dry food and 100 cans of wet food.

Police received a tip Sorenson was behind the theft, according to a press release. He has been cooperative with investigators and the stolen food has been returned, police said.

Sorenson is scheduled to appear in court on the burglary charge this afternoon.
