Obituary: Biggs, Peggy L. Dunlap

Age 83

BIGGS, Peggy L. Dunlap Peggy Louise (Herren) Dunlap Biggs, died December 29, 2013 in Spokane, WA.

Peggy was born in Walsh, Colorado to Harrison M. Herren and Mary “Irene” (Friend) Herren, on April 27, 1930.

In 1945 the family bought the Gateway cafĂŠ where Peggy met her future husband, Norman Dunlap.

Peggy held a variety of jobs throughout her life, one being a salesperson for for Thomas Motors in The Dalles, Oregon where she worked for seven years.

She married Norman D. Dunlap in 1946 in Vancouver, WA.

They had three children, Alene, Mildred and Connie, and moved to The Dalles in 1956.

Peggy remarried in 1969 to Sidney H. Biggs, Sr. Peggy and Sid adopted Millie’s daughter, Stephanie Ann Weeks in 1971.

Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband, Norman Dunlap; her second husband, Sidney Biggs; her daughter, Millie; her parents; brothers, Hershel Herren, Harold Herren, Sam Eakin; and sisters, Teresa Anderson, Velda Dunivan, Lola Belle DeCarlo and Elsie Mazac.

She is survived by her daughters, Alene (Howard) Thille, The Dalles, OR, Connie Schlager, Portland, OR, and JoAnne (Donald) Kilian, Couer D’Alene, ID; her son-in-law, James Nettles; six grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Dorothy) Herren; sister, Lois (Richard) Poynor; many nephews and nieces; and an “extra son,” Larry Johnston and his wife, Zana’, their son; and step children, Darlene, Tina, Barbara, and Sidney.

Of all her great qualities, her huge capacity for forgiveness, will always be remembered.

She loved her family and friends and they loved her.

Services will be held February 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Audubon Park, Spokane, WA.
