Man charged with burglarizing Spokane Valley cemeteries

Police arrested a man Thursday who is suspected of stealing items from memorial niches at local cemeteries.

Richard D. Hall, 30, is facing charges for burglarizing and damaging a cemetery. The Spokane Valley Police Department has been conducting an investigation into the ongoing thefts at cemeteries in Spokane Valley and unincorporated Spokane County, according to a police press release.

An employee at the Fairmount Memorial Park Cemetery in Spokane called police Thursday morning to report seeing Hall at the cemetery, which led to his arrest.
