Idaho man dies in Priest Lake motorcycle crash

A 50-year-old man from Oldtown, Idaho, died Monday afternoon in a motorcycle collision near Priest Lake, according to the Idaho State Police. Steven R. Pitts was driving a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle north on East Shore Road before 3 p.m. Monday when he left his lane and collided with John M. Marshall, 67, of Spokane, who was driving south, according to a news release. Marshall was driving a 2001 Nissan SUV and reported no injuries in the crash, according to the ISP. Pitts was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, investigators said. Marshall was wearing a seatbelt. Pitts was pronounced dead at the scene.
