Faculty member not so ruffled

I supported our internal candidate for Eastern Washington University’s presidency, but our trustees have made a decision based on a thoughtful vision of how this university may best serve the citizens of this region. So let’s accentuate the positive.

As a long-term faculty member, I’m not at all “ruffled” by the trustees’ decision, as suggested by The Spokesman-Review’s June 28 headline, but look forward to a new sense of mission and to supporting Mary Cullinan’s presidency as best I can.
