Spokane Public Schools to offer STEM camps

Spokane Public Schools is offering four-day STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) summer camps to kids looking for fun and interesting activities during their vacation.

Students entering grades 5 through 8 will learn about game and app development, video editing, 3-D printing, and water resource engineering. They will have the opportunity to complete a final project to share what they’ve learned and will also take a trip to Mobius Science Center as part of their camp experience.

Camps available are: Make my Game! – Game and App Development; Camp Crime Scene – Forensic Science; Water Resource Engineering; Underwater Robotics – Engineering; Robo Adventures – LEGO and MINDS-i Robotics; Computer Science/Programming; Video Construction Superstar; and 3-D Design and Printing.

Two-day camps are available for students entering kindergarten through fourth grade. Those camps are: Builders Robotics, for grades K-2, Monday-Tuesday; Inventors Robotics, for grades 3-4, Monday-Tuesday; Innovators Robotics, for grades K-4, Tuesday-Thursday.

Camps are offered 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday at the district’s various middle schools through Aug. 7. Four-day camps cost $60, two-day camps are $30.
