A 13-year-old girl and her 9-year-old sister home alone reportedly hid in a basement crawl space while two men broke into their home in the 200 block of East Elcliff Drive early Wednesday evening, according to a Spokane County Sheriff’s Office press release.
The girls told deputies that someone knocked on the door. They looked outside and saw two men in a small shiny grey car in the driveway. They said they hid in the crawl space when they saw both men approaching the front door again and heard the men kick the front door in, the press release said.
The 13-year-old called 911. When deputies arrived they found the front door damaged but no one was in the area. The girl’s mother told deputies that nothing appeared to be missing.
The driver of the car is described as white, bald and with a medium build. He was wearing a blue t-shirt. The passenger was described as white, skinny, about 20 to 30 years old and wearing a black t-shirt.
