Johnson for Commission

A vote for Mary Lou Johnson for Spokane County commissioner is a vote for civility and competence in that position, two skills that have been sadly lacking. I have known Mary Lou for some 20 years and have seen how many different groups and individuals have benefited from her leadership and ability to bring folks together in consensus and agreement.

When she sees a need, she steps up to the plate and brings all her skills to bear on meeting that need. When she says she will do something, she always follows through. Whether she is pulling weeds at a community garden, leading a Spokane Alliance task force or working to bring consensus to social justice issues, her voice and vision are always clear. It would be easy for her to sit back and enjoy her family in her retirement years, but she has a broader vision of what family means.

The Spokane community is her family, and she wants to support that in every possible way. Serving as county commissioner would be the perfect way to do that. A win-win situation for all of us.
