Big R expands CdA store

Big R Stores is nearly tripling the size of its Coeur d’Alene store, at 170 E. Kathleen Ave.

The Montana-based retailer has stores across the Northwest, including one in the Spokane area, one in Ponderay and another in Lewiston.

The expansion will take the store from 27,000 to 80,000 square feet, said manager Brian Cravens. The expansion is on the south end of the current building.

Big R carries a variety of feed items, outdoor wear and sporting goods.

Young Construction, the general contractor, is finishing pouring building footings.

Cravens said the goal is to move into the new space early in 2015.

Windermere City Group to relocate

Windermere Real Estate/City Group is close to moving into its new offices at 1237 W. Summit Parkway in the Kendall Yards development near downtown Spokane.

It’s planning to relocate at the end of this month.

The group will occupy roughly 5,300 square feet of office space in part of the building also used by Spa Paradiso.

Its current office is in the former Ram Restaurant building, 908 N. Howard Ave.

Design plans will allow the office to handle up to 40 agents.

A news release said the design includes floor-to-ceiling glass walls for full views of the Spokane River and downtown Spokane.

Ag foundation taking new office

The Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation will move to new offices in August, taking 2,095 square feet at 8817 E. Mission Ave., Suite 201, in Spokane Valley.

It’s currently leasing space at 9211 E. Mission Ave. The nonprofit group is a leadership development program for adults working with the state’s agriculture, forestry and fishing industries.

Casey Brazil and Erik Nelson of Kiemle & Hagood represented the property owner, Global Credit Union.

Chris Siemens, of Windermere City Group, represented the foundation in arranging the lease.
