Job description: The county treasurer is the custodian of all funds for the county and governmental subdivisions, including school districts and special purpose districts. The treasurer is also entrusted with disbursing funds for the county and assorted government units in the county.
Salary: $88,350 per year

Amy Biviano
Democrat, 39, married with two school-age children.
Education: Graduated from Pauls Valley (Oklahoma) High School, 1993. Earned bachelor’s in anthropology, Yale University, 1997. Earned master’s in business administration from Gonzaga University, 2007.
Work experience: Self-employed CPA and accounting consultant, 2009-present. Accountant, Spokane County United Way, 2008.
Political experience: Ran unsuccessfully for state representative, 2012. Former chairwoman of Spokane County Democratic Party. Member, Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce government affairs committee, 2010-present.
Mary Kuney
Republican, 49, married with two children: one school-age, one college-age.
Education: Graduated from Central Valley High School, 1983. Earned bachelor’s in accounting from Gonzaga University, 1987.
Work experience: Certified public accountant, worked for Washington state auditor’s office, 1993-2004; owner, Contineo Compliance PLLC, 2012-13; co-owner of Spokane-based Summit Tea Co., 2006-08; member of Hutton Settlement board of directors, 2009-14.
Political experience: Republican precinct committee officer, 2012. Appointed to city of Spokane Internal Audit Committee, 2004-08.
Rob Chase
Republican, 60, married with two adult children, one college-age child and one school-age child.
Education: Graduated from Kellogg High School, 1972. Earned business administration degree in operations management, Eastern Washington University, 1990.
Work experience: Expeditor with Haakon Industries, based in Cheney, 2006-07. Real estate broker, 2007-08.
Political experience: Elected Spokane County treasurer, 2010. Spokane Republican Party precinct committee officer, 2007-present. Ran unsuccessfully for state Senate in 2000, U.S. House in 2002 and county commissioner in 2012. Eastern Washington coordinator, Ron Paul for President 2008 and 2012.
