Headline misleading

From reading the headline “Israel strikes back at Gaza after rocket attacks (July 9),” one would believe that Israel was the victim of an unprovoked attack. In fact, the Israeli army has been demolishing Palestinian homes and assaulting Palestinian civilians for at least the last several weeks.

True, three Israeli settler youths were kidnapped and killed, but it is not appropriate to send in the army to demolish houses and arrest innocent people who have no involvement in the crime. That is what Israel has been doing, and the rocket attacks recently are in response to the Israeli attacks on Palestinian civilians.

Your headline gives the opposite impression.
