Obituary: Holmquist, M. Ardelle

HOLMQUIST, M. Ardelle Born in Lake Preston, South Dakota March 1, 1929 to Kenneth and Violet Jones.

She moved to Coeur d’Alene, ID where she was raised and attended Coeur d’Alene High School and enjoyed cheerleading.

Dur-ing this time she had a strong desire to “fly” and got her pilot’s license at the age of 16.

She also attained her cosmetology license as well.

She loved to dance and attended Cornish in Seattle, WA to further her talent.

She went on to open Ardelle’s School of Dance in Coeur d’Alene and Spokane.

She married the love of her life, Ronald Holmquist, in 1950, and were blessed with three children, Rhonda (John) Esco, Ron (Barbara) Holmquist Jr., Karen (Ed) Groce; five grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Ken and Vi Jones, brother, Marvin Jones, and granddaughter, Tami Holmquist.

She was involved in the procurement of funds to establish Spokane Valley Hospital.

She was also a member of Suburbanites and helped raise money to support the Ronald McDonald House as well as other charitable organizations.

She was an important part of the family business, Door Distributors of Spokane.

She was well respected and loved by the “Door Distributors Family.”

Her family and friends came first and she dedicated her life to make those around her happy.

She celebrated life.

We will miss you and forever and always have you in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made in the honor of Ardelle to the Ronald McDonald House.

Services will be held at ENGLISH FUNERAL CHAPEL, COEUR D’ALENE, Thursday, July 17, 11:30 a.m. (1133 N. 4th St.).
