NBA notes: Charlotte Hornets reach 3-year deal with Lance Stephenson

Ap

A person familiar with the contract said free-agent shooting guard Lance Stephenson has agreed to a $27 million, three-year deal with the Charlotte Hornets.

Stephenson met with Hornets owner Michael Jordan and other members of the organization Tuesday night in Las Vegas. Stephenson is coming off his best NBA season, averaging 13.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game. He led the league with five triple-doubles.

Pacers sign Stuckey

A person with knowledge of the situation told the Associated Press that the Indiana Pacers have agreed to terms with free agent guard Rodney Stuckey, an Eastern Washington product, on a one-year deal to help replace the departed Lance Stephenson.

Stuckey averaged 13.9 points last season, his seventh season with the Detroit Pistons.

With Stephenson gone, Indiana was in desperate need for some offensive help. The Pacers also brought in veteran C.J. Miles to add some shooting earlier this month.
