Three Sounders voted MLS All-Stars

Don Ruiz Tacoma News Tribune

Seattle Sounders Clint Dempsey, DeAndre Yedlin and Obafemi Martins have been voted onto the MLS All-Star Fan XI announced by the league Wednesday.

The trio gives Sounders FC the highest representation of any team.

Here is the team as decided by fan vote on the MLSsoccer.com website and through Twitter:

Goalkeeper Nick Rimando (Salt Lake); defenders: Matt Besler (Kansas City), Omar Gonzalez (Los Angeles) and Yedlin; midfielders: Kyle Beckerman (Salt Lake), Michael Bradley (Toronto), Dempsey and Graham Zusi (Kansas City); forwards: Landon Donovan (Los Angeles), Thierry Henry (New York) and Martins.

Those players will not necessarily be on the 20-man game-day roster, which will be selected by All-Star coach Caleb Porter of the Portland Timbers and commissioner Don Garber. Porter will name 18 players based on availability and tactical considerations, while Garber will add two. However, all Fan XI players are considered among the 32 All-Stars.

The MLS All-Stars will face German power Bayern Munich at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in Portland.
