Santos, Kliebphipat fall in round of 32 at Women’s Amateur Public Links

Gonzaga Bulldogs golfers Raychelle Santos and Tai Jade Kliebphipat lost close matches in Thursday’s round of 32 matches at the 38th and final Women’s Amateur Public Links tournament in DuPont, Washington, at The Home Course.

Santos, seeded 28th, lost 2-up to U.S. Girls Junior champion and No. 5 seed Gabriella Then.

Kliebphipat, seeded 11th, lost a heartbreaker to No. 22 seed Cassy Isagawa in 19 holes.

Santos and Kliebphipat joined Alice Kim, who fell in the round of 64, and current assistant coach Victoria Fallgren as the only Zags to play in the event.

The tourney will be team best-ball next year.
