Killing dog inexcusable

Concerning the young Labrador fatally shot through the raised window of a parked van, and then referred to as a charging pit bull: Ridiculous! In my opinion, the officer destroyed the dog only because it was there barking, and he knew he could. Certainly, a gunshot would tell any criminals that the police were there faster than anything a dog could do.

We, the public, do not need impulsive, thoughtless and uncaring people of any stripe on our streets using deadly force. If “official rules of conduct” condone such actions, then those rules need to be changed. ASAP!
