Man shot after argument near Lincoln Park

A shooting was reported in the 2200 block of East Girard Place north of Lincoln Park on the South Hill just before 11:30 p.m. Friday. “There was an individual who was under the influence of something, we believe, who approached a residence,” said Spokane Police spokeswoman Monique Cotton. The homeowner came outside and there was a confrontation in the driveway. The man refused to leave and the homeowner fired several shots, Cotton said. The man was shot and left the scene. He was found near 17th Avenue and Mount Vernon and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Cotton said. The homeowner has not been arrested. Major Crimes detectives are investigating. “It’s going to be an ongoing investigation to see what happened,” Cotton said.
