Obituary: Nolt, Richard L.

Age 82

NOLT, Richard L. Richard Lloyd Nolt went home to glory on July 19, 2014.

He was born to Lloyd and Gertrude (Bear) Nolt on October 25, 1931, on the family farm near Homer- ville, Ohio, the oldest of four children.

He graduated from Homer High School in Medina County, Ohio in 1949.

He joined Brethren Volunteer Service in 1950 and went to Vidora, Saskatchewan.

While there, he met his future wife, Ella.

They were married on April 27, 1952, in Vidora, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Richard lived in Maryland and Montana, and moved to Spokane in 1962.

Dick was a grocer for 25 years.

He and Ella moved to Wilbur in 1969 where he opened Dick’s Thrift Store in 1972.

Beginning in 1970, Dick began services in Keller, serving there as pastor until 1984.

He worked at social service home care programs for 16 years, then Laidlaw School bus for seven years.

Dick and Ella retired to Spokane in 1997.

They are members of Garland Alliance Church.

Survivors include his wonderful wife, Ella of 62 years; son, Bill (Kim) Nolt of Mabton, WA; daughter, Joy (Craig) Wilken of Sprague, WA; son, Brad (Debbie) Nolt of Wilbur, daughter, Judy (Jim) Warren of Westminster, CO; grandchildren, Josh Nolt, Nicki Denman (fiancĂŠ Nathan Wagner), Heather (Leigh) Rose, Clay (Marie) Wilken, Tim Wilken, Shane (Nikki) Nolt, Ashley Nolt (fiancĂŠ Mikhail Simonsen), Fawn Nolt, Danielle Warren, Michael Warren; great-grandchildren, Drake Nolt, Kaleb Nolt, Lily Nolt, Sierra Denman, Spencer Denman, Cameron Wilken, Kaylee Gurena, Timmy Wilken, Ella Wilken; brother, Eugene Nolt of Ohio; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Grandson, Michael Nolt; sister, Wilma Ammerman; brother, Calvin Nolt; and his parents preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be held Monday, July 28, 2014, at Garland Alliance Church, 2011 W. Garland Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205, at 11 a.m.
