Obituary: Kinkade, Pauline Marie

Age 85

KINKADE, Pauline Marie 2.1.1929 - 7.17.2014 Pauline was born in Oakland, CA., to Paul and Hansine Gothesen, the youngest of five daughters.

She graduated from Fremont High School in Oakland and on January 24, 1948 married Gerald “Jerry” Kinkade.

They were married over 65 years until his death July 17, 2013.

They lived in Hayward, CA, San Lorenzo, CA and Spokane, WA.

Pauline worked for the County of Alameda in Hayward, CA and later at Marina High School in San Leandro, CA., as the secretary to the Dean of Girls and Dean of Boys.

She was an active member of the Daughters of Norway in CA and Spokane for over 70 years.

She and Jerry loved to travel and meet new people.

They played many games of cribbage while traveling through the US and Canada, in their beloved camper van.

Pauline was famous among family and friends for her home made rocky road candy and Norwegian cookies.

Pauline is survived by her children, Vicki (Don) Santos, Randy (Sharon) Kinkade, Kristi (Tom) Kinkade-Schall; grandchildren, Lexi, Becah and Josh; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 2 PM at The Ridge at Rockwood Retirement Community South Hill, 2903 E 25th, Spokane, WA 99223.
