Shutdown reminder

Bruce Rawls (July 20) reminded us that it was Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers who was partly responsible for the government shutdown, and we should remember that come election time. What he forgot to mention was that it was President Obama and his cronies who got to pick and choose what programs were shut down.

Remember the National Parks being shut down? How about the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., that was barricaded so veterans couldn’t visit? Obama and his cronies made sure to shut down the things that would hurt Americans the most so he could blame the Republicans.

I don’t recall any Democrats speaking out against the president, or in favor of the American people at all. They only used the shutdown to try and score political points, at our expense. That’s what I will be remembering come election time. I hope everyone else remembers that, too.
