Two injured when truck collides with fire truck

Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified the service vehicle involved in the collision. A fire truck was struck Monday afternoon on the interstate. Two people were injured on Monday when a white pickup truck collided with a fire truck while changing lanes on Interstate 90, according to the Washington State Patrol. Mark McElrath, 51, and Crystal Rogers, 42, were traveling in the truck that rolled onto its top following the collision shortly after 2 p.m. Both were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center and had been released as of Tuesday morning. The driver of the fire truck, 45-year-old Steven McMullen, was uninjured. The two vehicles were traveling westbound near state Highway 195 when the truck, driven by McElrath merged right. The truck collided with the emergency vehicle and rolled onto its top, according to police. Charges are pending. Police say all those involved were wearing seat belts.
