Obituary: Freese, Adrienne Fernande (Raymonde)

Age 89

FREESE, Adrienne Fernande (Raymonde) Passed away peacefully on May 29th after battling cancer.

She was born in Paris, France on February 3, 1925 to Gustave and Elise Jacquin.

Mom was preceded in death by her husband Jack and son Richard.

She is survived by daughter Dianne (Jim) Hose, Spokane, and son Richard (Veronique) Nahmias, in Lugny, France; daughter-in-law, Brenda Freese’ Spokane; sisters Germaine Garaix and Simone Nikitine, both in France.

She has 10 grandchildren, Ashley Freese; Laura (Stacy) Tucker; Heather (Brian) Baker; Dawn Schmidt; Jim (Rachelle) Hose Jr.; Erin (Jason) Williams; Kristen (Matt) Snyder; and Olympe, Axel, and Raphael Nahmias.

She also has 13 great- grandchildren, Bryden and Evan Tucker; Kaytlin, Brienne, and Colin Schmidt; Koryn and Alex Baker; Genevieve Hose; Cole and Adrienne Williams; Halek, Selah, and Rowan Snyder.

Mom and Dad began their romance while both were working in an Army post office in Paris in 1945, a few months after the liberation of the city.

She was a civilian employee of the American Army.

After Dad returned to the U.S., Mom followed him on the Queen Elizabeth.

They were married in New York, and moved back to Spokane, where Dad continued his career in the Postal Service.

After her children were in school, Mom volunteered to teach French to the children of Our Lady of Fatima School.

She also cooked for the sisters in the convent.

She later worked at The Crescent and Betty Bone Boutique, where she developed a loyal following of clients who were amazed at her ability to pick the perfect size and style outfit.

Mom was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker.

She took great pride in everything she did.

Gardening was her passion, and she loved to cook delicious meals for her family.

But the greatest gift she gave to us was her faith in God.

Prayer was a regular part of her day.

She spoke to God often about her tribulations.

The family wishes to thank Chris, Kathy and Judy at Vera Valley Adult Family Home for the love and care they provided for Mom in her final months.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14th at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Horizon Hospice whose devotion and dedication to Mom’s care made our final time together a blessing.
