Police officer rescues man from Spokane River
A Spokane police officer rescued a man from the Spokane River this morning by throwing him a life-saving ring from a hotel swimming pool.
The police received a report of a man yelling for help in the Spokane River near the Red Lion River Inn at 700 N. Division St., around 10 a.m.
Officer Bruce Palmer grabbed the life-saving ring and threw it to the man, who grabbed it and was pulled to safety, a news release from the police department said.
The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a Spokane hospital for evaluation, but is expected to make a full recovery, the release said.
