Signed The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed center Maurkice Pouncey to a five-year extension averaging $8.8 million per season, making the three-time Pro Bowler the highest-paid center in the NFL.

Transferred Former North Carolina guard Diamond DeShields is transferring to Tennessee. Under NCAA rules, DeShields, the ACC freshman of the year last season after averaging 18 points, must sit out a year before being eligible to play for the Lady Vols in 2015-16.

Decided Prosecutors in Miami have decided not to file charges against 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick and two other NFL players in an incident involving a woman at a downtown hotel. A memo released by the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office said there was insufficient evidence that any crime was committed in the hotel room in April.

Announced For only the second time, golf’s oldest major championship will be played in Northern Ireland when the British Open returns to Royal Portrush Golf Club in 2019. Media reports from Ireland and the United Kingdom said the Royal & Ancient, golf’s governing body outside the United States and Mexico, will make the announcement Monday.

• The Atlanta Falcons have announced they will be featured on HBO Sports’ documentary series Hard Knocks this summer. The five-part weekly series debuts Aug. 5 and concludes Sept. 2.

• Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will field a car for Italian driver Luca Filippi in the IndyCar Series races at Houston and Toronto. The car Filippi will drive will have associate sponsorship from IMPCO, a supplier of alternative fuel systems, and FightSMA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a treatment or cure for spinal muscular atrophy.

• A person familiar with the Cavaliers’ coaching search says the team will interview former Maccabi Tel Aviv coach David Blatt, who announced in Israel that he’s leaving the European champion to pursue an unspecified job in the NBA.
