Shock activate QB Erik Meyer from IR

The Spokane Shcok have activated quarterback Erik Meyer from injured reserve, roughly 5½ weeks after suffering a collarbone injury against Los Angeles.

“It’s great that he healed a lot faster than normal,” coach Andy Olson said in a release. “Having his surgery done with Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists and the treatment he’s got to this point with PT Associates and our team trainer Julie Woolf has been fantastic. They’ve done a good job of taking care of him and he’s done a good job of taking care of himself.”

The Shock (6-6), who went 1-4 with Meyer on injured reserve, face a key divisional game at San Jose (8-4) on Saturday. Meyer, the AFL’s most valuable player last year, is 3-0 in his Shock career against the SaberCats with 16 passing touchdowns, five rushing TDs and zero interceptions.
