Palouse Fiber Arts Festival - Fiber arts workshops run from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sunday and cost is $55 per half day of class; half-day and full-day classes are available and most classes will be held at the 1912 Center. Classes include indigo dyeing, weaving, spinning for drop spindles and wheels, colorwork knitting, color theory, wool combing, and steeking. The fiber market will be open Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and is free to the public, featuring both Jenkins and Greensleeves drop spindles, hand dyed yarns and fibers and locally grown farm yarns and fibers and more. There will be spinning wheels and looms to try and buy, as well as other fiber related equipment. Sewapalooza - Hands-on sewing, embroidery and quilting workshop. Nancy Bednar will present three unique projects including an embroidered wristlet, a quilted mini travel pillow and an embellished shoe sack using Bernina’s DesignWorks software suite. Idaho-Washington Forest Owners Field Day - A wide variety of classes and activities will be offered. The events are designed to prepare landowners to plan and accomplish their personal objectives, reduce risks and protect their financial investment. Spokane in Bloom Garden Tour - “How Green is My Valley” is this year’s theme. The tour will be Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Gardens to visit are: Wabi Sabi, 1719 S. Band Together for the Animals - SCRAPS will hold the Leash Cutting and Grand Opening celebration of its new regional animal facility.
