Obituary: Manley, Barbara J.

(Age 63) Beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend to many entered into rest May 29, 2014 at Hospice House North in Spokane.

She was born to John and Betty McCaughan, January 15, 1951 in Spokane, WA.

Barb married the love of her life Richard (Rick) Manley in 1976 and shared a life together with their two daughters until his death in 2008.

Barb was preceded in death by her mother Betty, father John, sister Sandra Bohrer, and husband Richard.

She is survived by: her sister Lynne (Jim) Keenan; daughters Alicia Brannam, Jill Manley, and Sandra Cox Levine; five grandchildren Emily, Alexis, Drake, Demetri, and Chase, other family, and countless friends.

Barb was a free spirit and a true child of the 60s.

She graduated from Shadle High School in 1969 then worked as a waitress before becoming a homemaker raising her two daughters.

She was a gracious and giving woman always willing to lend an ear or sympathetic shoulder to anyone no matter the time of day or night.

She enjoyed bringing a smile to every face she met.

She was a strong fighter who raised her girls to be strong, smart, independent women while battling cancer for the last 16 years before laying to rest.
