Obituary: Schade, Larry “Frank”

Age 70

SCHADE, Larry “Frank” (Age 70) 4 August 1943-8 June 2014 My dad was born in Valley View, Pennsylvania where he grew up and attended school.

Upon graduation he joined the United States Air Force and served with distinction for 26 years.

My dad was a “maintainer” on B52’s and took great pride in fixing “…what the college boys broke”.

He loved what he did but it was the lifelong friendships that he made which were most important, cheesy but true.

My father married my mother, Mary, at a young age and they immediately had twins, Rich and Tracy.

Five years later, the family would be complete with another son they named Frank.

My parents were married for 49 years, some longer than others.

He had difficulty showing emotion, but his love for his wife, children and grandchildren was without question.

My dad loved spending time at his and my mother’s cabin in Springdale where he would sit and watch the wildlife with my mom.

Hunting on his property with his sons was something he truly loved!

Another great PASSION was watching his granddaughters Frankie and Gracie play soccer, he never missed a game.

He loved teasing his grandson Logan, who never quite got his dry sense of humor.

His granddaughter, Hannah, could always make him smile, even when he didn’t feel like it.

My dad loved the Steelers, the Sounders and his black lab who misses him dearly.

Most of all, he loved his wife Mary whom he shared his life and inexplicable love of all forms of soccer (even European!).

He loved and was very proud of Rich and his wife Amy, his daughter Tracy, son Frank and his wife Tricia… and he loved his beautiful grandchildren…Frankie-Paige, Gracie, Logan and sweet little Hannah.

He will be missed by many but most by Mary and the kids…. A memorial will be held on 24 June at Arbor Crest from 6:30 - 9:00 for friends and family.
