Obituary: Asher, C. Maxine

Age 98

ASHER, C. Maxine (Age 97) Longtime resident of Coeur d’Alene, went to be with the Lord on June 12, 2014 from Life Care Center in Post Falls, ID.

Maxine was born in Spokane, WA., on July 3, 1916, to Mack and Anna Mae (Davis) Depew.

One of five girls, Maxine grew up on a ranch in Montana where she attended the Belt Montana Schools.

She attended college in Bozeman, MT.

Maxine married Vaughn Asher at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Coeur d’Alene in October of 1960.

She was an active and dedicated member of the church, where she served on the Altar Guild, and the Women’s Guild for many years.

She worked in the accounting department of Kaiser Aluminum but her passion was painting.

She also enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling, and golf.

She loved traveling around the world, and listening to music (especially opera).

She delighted in cocktail time, and spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and the Coeur d’Alene Art Association.

She was also a longtime ‘Art On The Green’ volunteer.

She is survived by her five children: Carol Anderson, Frank Addeman, Kaye Wheeler, Charlene Snook, and Barbara Brown; 10 grandchildren: Ginny Longo, David Anderson, Eric Anderson, Matt Addeman, Carley Addeman, Blake Addeman, Tom Snook, Jim Snook, Shelley McLam, and Julie Dachn; 9 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her younger sister (and singing partner) Roberta Goodhart.

Maxine is preceded in death by her husband Vaughn Asher; her first husband Spencer Addeman; great-grandson Sam McLam; her parents; and three sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 1042 W. Mill Ave., Ste.

101B, Coeur d’Alene, ID, 83814.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, June 21, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 501 E. Wallace, Ave. in Coeur d’Alene.
