Shadow extend their unbeaten streak to six

The Spokane Shadow pushed their unbeaten streak to six matches with a 2-0 victory on the road against Bellingham on Sunday afternoon.

Both goals were set up by Mike Ramos.

Andrew Glaeser recorded the shutout for the Shadow, the only team with three shutouts in the Evergreen Premier League this season.

The Shadow took the lead in the 29th minute when Ramos fed Colin Shockman with a crossing pass. The goal was a rarity for Shockman, who has not scored during his three seasons as a defender for Whitworth.

In second-half stoppage time Ramos took advantage of the Hammers pushing forward for the equalizer, finding Oregon State-bound Timmy Mueller for the insurance score.

The victory keeps the Shadow in the hunt for the league title, with first-place South Sound visiting Spokane on Saturday. Game time is 7 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College.

The Shadow, still undefeated on the road (4-0-1), are 5-2-1 overall. Spokane and Bellingham are tied with 16 points, which is three behind South Sound and two behind Vancouver.
