Deputies prepare for Paradiso festival at Gorge

Associated Press
EPHRATA, Wash. — The Grant County sheriff’s office is preparing for the Paradiso electronic dance music festival on the last weekend in June at the Gorge Amphitheater at George. The Ephrata news website iFIBER One News reports the sheriff is adding deputies and undercover officers to control crowds and look for illegal drugs. Last year’s concert brought 20,000 people, and about two dozen were arrested and 72 were treated at Quincy Valley Medical Center for overdoses, injuries and other problems. The amphitheater operator, Live Nation Entertainment, has told Grant County commissioners it will have medical and security staff for the entire weekend.
